We live in a time when the value of Monarchy is being questioned and challenged as never before. This is a sign of the End of the Age when thrones are cast down, as began to happen nearly 100 years ago and when, as is taking place now, nations and their borders are being dismantled in Europe with cultures being merged as people from all over the world flood into our lands. Organisations like the European Union are rising to challenge the concept of historic constitutional monarchy like that of the British Monarchy in the United Kingdom.

Most disturbing of all to our Christian culture and constitution is the influx of eastern religions and the conflicts they bring, particularly that with Islamic extremism. In Deuteronomy 32:25 we read of “The sword without and the terror within [that] shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of grey hairs.”

Our mentors in prophetic fulfilment 60 and 70 years ago were perhaps premature in identifying the three evil spirits of Revelation 16:13-16 as Communism, Fascism and Nazism. The present spirit of fanaticism in the religious cult of worldwide Islamic terrorism is now gathering the nations of Europe and the Western World to a place of conflict, in symbol called ‘Armageddon,’ at home and throughout many parts of the world, particularly in the Middle East. Essentially it is a judgment on mystical Babylon, which entered a new and final phase on 9/11, 11th September, 2001, with the attack on the World Trade Centre in New York and which is described in Revelation 18.

Of course, the great prestige of the British Monarchy is still revered and held in high esteem, particularly and ironically in the great republic of the United States of America. It is the history of family relationship that is involved here. Historically and symbolically the British Throne is a Christian Throne. It clearly identifies itself with the Word of God and honours Jesus Christ in a way that no other Throne has ever done. It acknowledges God’s Son as King of kings and Lord of lords. It acclaims Him as Saviour and Redeemer of the world.

This alone should be sufficient reason for every Christian to support our Monarchy System and all that it stands for. The Sceptre of Righteousness, with the balance between justice and mercy is the spirit of Christ’s Kingdom on Earth. The Gospel of the Kingdom is what Christ taught as did his herald John the Baptist, before the Church as such was born. Israel from the beginning were “the church in the wilderness” (Acts 7:38), the called out and separated people which were to be an example people and who became a kingdom to lead the world in God’s righteous and lawful ways.

 

The Dogma that caused Blindness

As we know, what happened in history was that another concept of monarchy developed in Europe, centred on Rome. An early Christian church group in Rome based on the exiled Christian monarchy of Britain, of Caradoc or Caractacus, was founded in AD 58. Centuries later in AD 607 the Bishop of Rome was given the title of Pope, or universal bishop, by the wicked Emperor Phocas. From then on, in the minds of many in Europe and eventually in the rest of the civilized world and for Christians in particular, the Kingdom of God became a Church, with the popes becoming as monarchs upon the papal throne, rather than the literal kingdom of Israel, which seemingly God had given over to judgment and oblivion.

The theology that developed around this counterfeit kingdom concept is called Replacement Theology. I stress this is a dogma rather than a doctrine. Why do Protestants continue to follow a Roman Catholic teaching of the Kingdom of God? They say that the Church is the greatest institution in the world, when in fact it is the Kingdom that is the greatest established order to confirm the plan of God for world order.

 

The question that arises from the terminology of replacement is where in the Word of God did the LORD say that He would replace and abandon His people, without a plan to redeem and restore them? The answer is nowhere – yes He said He would judge them and yes He said he would allow them to be carried away in captivity, but that was only the sad part of the story. Replacement Theology stops at the sad part of the story. It is as if the death of Jesus is the end of the story without the resurrection that follows. A centuries-long blindness has happened to Israel, but, Hallelujah, it is now time for the scales to fall from the eyes of His servant people.

The marvellous and wonderful part of the story is the redemption, the restoration and the resurrection of Israel, the people He chastised and judged. Redemption means that restoration takes place and if Christians cannot see this from the prophetic Scriptures, then they do not have a grasp on the full and complete Gospel of the Kingdom, the great master plan of the ages for a people called by His Name and for God’s great Cause and Purpose for His People to lead the nations in peace. Think of this! They can never enter fully into what the resurrection of Christ means for the world. They are left at the entrance of the tomb without the stone being rolled away.

For them the second part of the Reformation – the Re-formation of Israel has not taken place. In a sense they are like the Jews who still look for the Messiah to come, not realizing that the King of kings has been in their midst. What is it that has maintained the vast scale of this blindness for so long a period of history, while beneath the surface the truth has been known all along to the few? It is a mystery, yet in a real way it is obvious. What we are dealing with is a revelation by the Holy Spirit. The mystery of the Kingdom can only be understood by revelation and it was taught by Christ in parable form. He said the Kingdom of God is likened to this and to that – all the parables of the Kingdom are prophetic. Thus, it was not for everyone to know all things from the beginning of the Christian era (Matthew 13:11).

 

The Birthright Factor is Overlooked

How clear are the two parts of the story in I Chronicles 5:2. “For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph’s.” The birthright factor is completely overlooked by Christians generally and Church dogma. The chief ruler, the Messiah and the coming King of kings was to come from Judah, this is recognized by Christians. What is not understood is that because a king of necessity has a kingdom and a throne, there must be a birthright inheritance to support the kingship and the rulership that is God’s Master Plan for His Kingdom upon Earth.*

From Joseph whose branches were to run over the wall (Genesis 49:22), who was given a double portion (Ezekiel 47:13), came his two sons Ephraim and Manasseh. In Deuteronomy 33:16-17 we read that the blessing is come upon the head of Joseph and upon the descendants of his two sons Ephraim and Manasseh.

Under the symbol of the Unicorn they are to “push the people together from the ends of the Earth.” Earlier in Numbers 23 and 24 the people of Israel are prophesied to rise up as “a great lion” and whose seed are to be “in many waters” – a maritime nation that are able to dominate the world across the oceans from one end of the Earth to the other. Now I wonder who that can be – does it take much working out? Are there any detectives here that we can put on the case to trace the descendants of these sons of Joseph? Joseph who was thought to be dead, but who was found to be alive!

The vast bulk of ancient Israel were removed from Palestine and taken to Assyria in captivity. Millions of people do not just disappear. Within 50 years these captives were moving out from a collapsed Assyrian Empire into Asia Minor. A people called the Gimera appear for the first time in history. They were in fact the Israelites. Gimera is a corruption of Ghomri, the Assyrian name for Israel who were also called the Kumri by them. The Welsh people today are known as the ‘Cymri’ (pronounced Kumree).

When Jacob returned to Bethel God told him that his name was to be changed to Israel because as the LORD said “I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins” (Genesis 35:11). The first thing to really take note of is that the Lord says “I am God Almighty” He is putting His very name, I am, on the line when we consider the level at which He is committing the honour of His Word of promise – when He declares that Jacob would become Israel (ruling with God or prince with God) and in so doing would develop into a great company of nations. Now it is a fact that ancient Israel never became such a company of nations. But a people called British, or Brith-ish (two Hebrew words) meaning “covenant man,” did become such a company or Commonwealth of nations.

God is not talking about a company of churches, but a company of nations. If theologians spiritualise this mighty, mighty promise, coming from the Lord God of Israel, then they do great violence to the meaning of God’s declared Word – a very serious thing to do. The vision of the Kingdom of God upon Earth is the predominant theme of Scripture. The Bible is really a history book of a people called and set apart for service according to his great Purpose. They have been and still are a remnant in the Earth, constituting today only around ten percent of the world’s population – a tithe.

 

The Royal Law

James, in his Epistle “to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad” in chapter 2:8 declares: “If ye fulfil the royal law according to scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well.” I have here a small book entitled The Royal Law by L. L. Blake, published in 2000 (by Shepheard-Walwyn, ISBN 0-856383-191-3, price £12.95). It is not our book but its contents cover Government, Monarchy, Sovereignty and Coronation. In an Appendix the rear of the book there is set out “The Form and Order of Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation,” which took place on 2nd June, 1953. It follows exactly the biblical pattern for the crowning of the Lord’s Anointed as monarch in Israel. After taking the Oath and before the Communion Service and the Anointing, the Queen was presented with the Holy Bible by the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Moderator of the Church of Scotland.

The Archbishop said these words: OUR GRACIOUS QUEEN: to keep your majesty ever mindful of the Law and the Gospel of God as the Rule for the whole life and government of Christian Princes, we present you with this Book, the most valuable thing this world affords. The Moderator of the Church of Scotland then continued: Here is Wisdom; This is the royal Law; These are the lively Oracles of God.”

Are these meaningless words in the modern (secular) world? Is there a Government of God? This is the greatest issue that needs to be resolved in the mind of the civilized world. These words and this Coronation Service of a monarch upon a rough hewn block of sandstone happens nowhere else in the world and it takes place, constitutionally, at the centre of a great company of nations. God said to Jacob; “This stone shall be God’s house” (Genesis 28:22).

Today the stone is in Edinburgh Castle. It was taken from Westminster Abbey eleven years ago on 14th November, 1996 (interestingly, the 48th birthday of Prince Charles, the heir to the throne). This Stone of Destiny represents the constitutional centre of God’s Kingdom upon Earth. It looks just like “the stone that the builders rejected” of Matthew 21:42 which has “become the head of the corner,” or the chief cornerstone – and that is what it represents. It is a symbol and in one sense it does not matter that it has been given back to Scotland to be returned for the next coronation. However, in another very real sense it is a symbol of the covenant system of government between the monarch, the people and their constitutional Parliament, known as ‘the Queen-in-Parliament under God.’

Why are there two iron rings on “Jacob’s Stone” that are well worn, but that never rust? The rings are about the thickness of the human finger – except where they are looped together with the rings imbedded in the stone. Here they have been worn down to paper thinness. If this stone was just a cover for a pit then the wearing away would not have taken place. The only way the rings could have worn is during the 40 years that Israel carried the stone in the Wilderness. The Apostle Paul tells us in I Corinthians 10:1-4: “Moreover, brethren, I would not that you should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the red Sea… And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.” In the Greek the word for “Christ” is “the anointed.” Jacob anointed this rock, this stone, at Bethel when the wonderful prophecy that the stone would be “God’s House” was uttered.

In I Chronicles 29:23 we read that “Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.” Thus the literal Davidic throne was declared to be the Throne of the LORD. This throne was to be an enduring and everlasting throne never wanting a successor to occupy the constitutional centre of God’s Kingdom rule until Jesus Christ should return (I Kings 2:4; 8:25, this included the Hebrew Law of Inheritance through the female). Christians, by tradition, have no trouble in remembering this at Christmas, when they repeat the words of Luke 1: 31-33 where the angel Gabriel says to Mary that the Lord God will give unto the Son of the Highest “the throne of his father David.” Could anything be more apparent, more clear, that this throne will have to exist on Earth for the Coming King of kings to take up?

 

The European Union and the Throne of David

Since 1972 the United Kingdom has been in state of constitutional illegality in respect of the European Union. The position can be likened to a shadow of eclipse that has passed over the sun blocking out the light that once illuminated the Earth. A number of great statutes of the Realm remain on the Statute Book without repeal and are in increasing conflict with the European Union which has been seeking a constitution in a federalizing sense. No two statutes should be in conflict on our Statute Book. That is not the position today. In Psalm 89: 34-37 the Throne of David is confirmed as symbolized as being like the sun and moon, whereas in Matthew 24: 29 we are told that just before the coming of the Son of man, when His light shall suddenly strike the Earth like lightning, the sun and the moon will not be giving forth their light.

The picture is one where the stars are falling from heaven and the very powers of heaven are being shaken. I want to suggest to you that essentially this is a symbol of what is happening to the Kingdom of God upon Earth. It may be that great cosmic things are happening in space, but as in heaven so on Earth we are seeing the Throne of the Lord being challenged by a system of government that has its origins in the Will of Man rather than the Will of God. A system that emanates from ancient Babylon, via Rome, to the atheistic French Revolution.

What we are waiting for in prophetic terms is Jonah, a type of Israel, being regurgitated or forced out, from the belly of the whale, a symbol of Babylon. The European Union is a stepping stone towards a pagan system of World Government which is now tied into monetary union coming before political and constitutional union among the 27 member states. This has never been tried before in history and prophetically it is doomed to fail in the final demise of the Babylonish system, as revealed in Revelation chapter 18.

What we do not know at this point is whether Britain will emerge from the EU before the system falls or after the crash. What we do know is that the sun, moon and stars are called to witness that the throne will endure whatever the political pressures and the revolutionary and conspiratorial schemes do to undermine the Throne of the LORD upon Earth. The prophet Jeremiah confirmed the words of Nathan where we read in Jeremiah 33:19-21: “Thus saith the LORD: if you can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, that there should not be day and night in their season: Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites, the priests, my ministers.”

 

Is the British Throne of German Origin?

Finally, quite often it is said in Britain that the British Throne is descended from Germany because George I of England spoke German. Republicans like to say the royal family is German in advocating the abolition of the monarchy. However the British Royal Line came to Germany and returned to Britain as follows: George I of England, although speaking German, was the son of Princess Sophia, who was the granddaughter of James I of England (VI of Scotland). Princess Sophia’s husband was the Elector of Hanover, who in turn was the 14th in direct male succession from the Empress Maud, daughter of Henry II of England.

In this way – the Royal Line of David remained intact, from King David in Palestine, via Ireland, Scotland and England to Queen Elizabeth II today. The world’s Greatest Throne – as opposed to the counterfeit throne in the Vatican at Rome – which God promised in His unconditional Covenant with David. God’s promises are sure and certain.

 

* When Jesus said “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36), the Greek word used for “world” is kosmos, meaning the world ordered system of man. The Kingdom of God on Earth from its inception at Mt. Sinai was a literal God-orientated or heavenly ordered kingdom. It is this kingdom and this Throne of David which is upheld in the Earth by God and to which He will return in order to restore true and righteous government.
