NEW AT HEADQUARTERS
The official Diamond Jubilee photographic portrait of Her Majesty The Queen has been purchased for the Main Hall at Headquarters. It now hangs above the fireplace and the heraldic beasts. The previous Golden Jubilee portrait has been moved to a prominent position on the landing at the top of the main stairs to the Hall so it can still be seen. There will be a photograph of this portrait in situ in the Newsletter.

RECENT EVENTS
Ulster Rally – on Saturday, 15 September. The speakers were Martin Lightfoot who spoke on ‘Haplogroups’ and David Aimer whose subject was ‘Royal Families of the World.’ Attendance was affected by other events in Belfast but the fellowship was much enjoyed.
93rd Annual Congress – the sun shone again on our third visit to Gilsland Spa. The theme of ‘He shall rule over the House of Jacob for ever’ was introduced by Michael Clark who opened the event and was taken up by the other speakers in different ways. Jory Brooks from the Canadian British-Israel Association gave two very well-researched lectures, Robert Phillips spoke powerfully as usual and there were presentations from David Aimer, Clifford Smyth and Martin Lightfoot. Saturday evening finished with music and songs from Anne Smyth who also played hymns for all to sing and Frank Tebbutt led Morning Worship on Sunday. DVDs of most of the lectures are available from CPC – details and price on request.
The National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery – London – on Saturday, 3rd November, Martin Lightfoot led a group of 18, which included new friends, to see the portraits of the monarchs from Richard III to King George V in the galleries of the National Portrait Gallery. He pointed out their contribution to the development and consolidation of the Christian Faith in our nation. There were also portraits of great Christian figures such as John Wesley. History comes to life when it is seen in this way. A time of fellowship over tea was enjoyed at the end.
THE COVENANT NATIONS
The Covenant Nations Volume 2 Number 8 is in production and will be out shortly. The theme this issue is ‘the Sceptre and the Birthright’ and it is full of very interesting articles, including Bishop Allen’s fascinating visit to Windsor Castle.
