St Michael and All Angels Day

‘Blow the Trumpet, Sound an Alarm …

Call a Solemn Assembly’ (Joel  2:1; 15-17)

During the past year since our Day of Prayer in 2008 we have witnessed an upheaval at Westminster over MPs expenses. It really does seem that the cleansing of the sanctuary in the midst of the body-politic of our nation is underway, following on from the financial and banking crash. Are we now to see this cleansing process extent to the Church?

Those who are privileged to understand the national message of the Bible, need to pray that the heart of the covenant people will be so changed that they will enter God’s House willingly, with sincere repentance and weeping.

It is our solemn duty to call a day of prayer in order to prepare for the coming solemn assembly. With this in mind, we ask all Kingdom Identity believers to pray (either singly or in groups) on Saturday 26th September, 2009.  The Lord will hear the prayers of His dedicated servants.

In the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, the 28th September is appointed for the reading of Joel chapter 2 while the 29th is the Feast of St. Michael and All Angels – the day when Israel’s Defender, the archangel Michael, who stands up for the children of God’s People in their great time of trouble (Daniel 12:1), is remembered. What better approach to this day can we make than to ask the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to prepare His people for events ahead as the LORD brings His people out of the night of symbolical Egypt and Babylon and into His Light of Righteousness?

You may already have in mind what you want to say to the Almighty as we come to 26th September, but listed on the reverse of this notice are some suggested aids. Let us also bear in mind that where two or three are gathered together in the LORD’S name, He is in the midst (Matthew 18:20).

     God bless you all,

In preparation for the coming ‘Solemn Assembly’

(Joel  2:15)

“Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts; let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.  Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them, wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

(Joel  2:16-17)
