Life IN THE B.I.W.F.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Welcome!

More news for you to read about events, projects and activities in the Federation.

BIWF CENTENARY YEAR

The President, General Secretary and Board of Management of the Federation are honoured and delighted that we can all join in celebrating the 100 years since the many and various British-Israel organisations joined forces to form the ‘British-Israel-World Federation’ on 3 July 1919. Michael Clark will be launching ‘The President’s Centenary Appeal’ at the Morecambe Rally and details will be available at that event.

The theme of the Summer Convention and the 100th Annual Congress is ‘A Century of Witness’ but speakers will be encouraged to look forward to the future of the BI message as well as acknowledging the dedication and service of those who laid the foundations of the Federation building steadfastly on them through all the turbulent years of the past century.

‘THUS SAITH THE LORD …’

The President sent the attached document to Her Majesty The Queen and the 7 most senior persons in the nation on 10 December 2018. This important communication highlighted the original ‘Contempt by Parliament of the Constitution 1972 and 1992’ and it is now enclosed for members to use as they feel lead.

‘MAKE BRITAIN GREAT AGAIN!’

The Rally at Headquarters on Saturday, 1 June, will mark the new phase in our history as we re-establish Commonwealth links with our brothers and sisters in the covenant nations; looking forward to continuing our work and witness with renewed energy and enthusiasm.

Here is some very encouraging news from Martin Lightfoot:

The teaching videos and articles on the website of The National Bible College are attracting viewings and subscribers in large numbers – over 197,000 viewings and over 600 subscribers. Many of them leave comments which members might like to read and then engage in discussion with them. The website is www.tnbc.org.uk.

The Distance Learning Programme continues to receive new registrations from all over the world. A client in the Far East has recently completed all four modules.

SUMMER CONVENTION

The theme this year is ‘A Century of Witness’ – at the Palace Hotel in Buxton from Monday 22 July to Saturday 27 July. The programme is being prepared and the highlight will be a Gala Dinner on the Wednesday evening.

BIWF NEWSLETTER

See the Newsletter for January 2019 for reports of events during 2018. The President’s ‘Our Focus’ sets out his vision for this year under the heading ‘This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.’

‘ANGLO-SAXON KINGDOMS. ART, WORD, WAR’

This fascinating exhibition is at the British Library in London until 19 February. It is highly recommended as an opportunity to see our heritage displayed in all its splendour – manuscripts, jewellery such as the Alfred Jewel and artefacts. The giant Bible, Codex Amiatinus, which was made in the monastery of Wearmouth-Jarrow has been brought back for the first time in 1300 years.

NEW ARRIVAL

Talia and her husband Tyrone are pleased for us to announce the birth of their baby boy Cruz who arrived on 18 August 2018.

NEW HOME

Michael and Philippa Clark moved from Birmingham to South Wales in August 2018 to be near Sarah, Daniel and grandson Elijah. The settling-in process is very nearly complete – after 50 years in one house for Michael!
